A General Power of Attorney is a legal document that allows you to nominate one or more persons or entities to act on behalf of you in all legal, business and financial matters. It is usually used to allow the agent to handle all the affairs of the principal during a period when the principal unable to do so. General Power of Attorney allows the agent to act on behalf of the principal in any matters, as allowed by the laws. The agent under such an agreement may be authorized to handle bank accounts, sign checks, sell property, manage assets, and file taxes for the principal.
