MOFA Attestation in Sharjah & Ajman

How does MOFA attestation work for Sharjah and Ajman residents?

UAE MOFA attestation for residents of Sharjah and Ajman is handled mainly online, through MOFA’s digital attestation service (UAE Pass login, available 24/7 for eligible document types) or an approved courier — not through a walk-in counter you can rely on in either emirate. A MOFA branch office exists in Sharjah, but no current MOFA walk-in office is confirmed for Ajman. For both emirates, MOFA’s Customer Service line (80044444) is the most reliable first point of contact. Attest Dubai arranges collection and delivery across the UAE, including Sharjah and Ajman — contact us to confirm pickup for your exact location.

Is there a MOFA office in Sharjah?

Yes, but the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ own pages don’t fully agree on the detail. MOFA’s Contact Us page lists a Sharjah address in the “Al Dafeen Area” with no street number or hours given. A separate MOFA FAQ page instead names a “Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Branch Office in Sharjah, Rahmaniyah Area,” with hours 8:00 am–2:00 pm — a different area name, on a different live official page, with no reconciliation between the two.

The same FAQ page is also inconsistent on walk-in service: one answer says MOFA’s “Customer Happiness Centres are closed,” while another says the Ministry “does not have any Customer Happiness Centers” at all. Because of this, we don’t state a confirmed walk-in process for the Sharjah branch — call MOFA Customer Service on 80044444 to confirm current walk-in availability before making a trip, or use the digital/courier route below, which is confirmed and doesn’t depend on a branch visit.

Is there a MOFA office in Ajman?

No current official MOFA address for Ajman could be found on mofa.gov.ae. The only Ajman reference we found anywhere on the Ministry’s site was a news item from November 2017 naming the Ajman Chamber of Commerce as a service point outside Abu Dhabi and Dubai — nine years old, and from before the Ministry moved to its current digital-first attestation system, so we do not treat it as a current fact.

For Ajman residents, the confirmed route is MOFA’s digital attestation service for eligible documents, the approved-courier route for everything else, or MOFA Customer Service (80044444 / +971 800 44444) for anything specific to your document. Attest Dubai can also submit and collect on your behalf — get in touch and we’ll confirm the fastest route for your document.

How do I attest a document online from Sharjah or Ajman?

MOFA’s Documents Attestation service runs the same way regardless of which emirate you’re in: log in with UAE Pass, select the issuing authority (or your document’s country of issue, if it was issued outside the UAE), upload the original document, pay the fee, and receive the attested copy by email or under “My Requests.” Eligible document types — birth and death certificates, police clearance (good conduct) certificates, educational certificates, medical reports, powers of attorney, legal and court documents, and marital or civil-status certificates — go through this digital pathway exclusively for some categories (police clearance, birth and death certificates have no courier alternative).

For documents that aren’t digital-eligible, MOFA offers a courier pickup-and-delivery route instead, booked through the same portal. MOFA’s own published timings (page undated): digital attestation inside the UAE within 2 hours during official working hours; courier inside the UAE 1–3 business days; courier outside the UAE up to 7 business days. You can verify any completed attestation afterwards at verify.mofa.gov.ae.

Where can I get UK certificate attestation while living in Sharjah or Ajman?

The process is identical no matter which UAE emirate you live in, because the final step — UAE MOFA — is a federal service, not an emirate-level one. A UK-issued document first needs an FCDO apostille (the UK’s Legalisation Office), then attestation by the UAE Embassy in London (digital or postal), which is then followed by UAE MOFA attestation. See our full UK Certificate Attestation guide and What Drives the Cost of UK Degree Attestation for the complete chain and published FCDO fees. Attest Dubai can manage the UAE-side steps for clients based in Sharjah, Ajman, or anywhere else in the UAE.

Is certified true copy attestation available in Sharjah?

A certified true copy is a notarization service, not a MOFA attestation — a notary public certifies that a copy matches an original document whose authenticity isn’t in question (a passport page, an Emirates ID, a degree certificate you already hold). This is handled by notary offices rather than MOFA, and the process and venues differ by emirate. See our Certified True Copy page for how this differs from full attestation, and contact us to confirm the nearest option if you’re based in Sharjah or Ajman.

How does Sharjah/Ajman MOFA attestation compare with Abu Dhabi and Dubai?

MOFA attestation rules, fees and digital eligibility are set nationally, so the service itself doesn’t change between emirates — what changes is how easy it is to find a physical branch, and Sharjah and Ajman simply have less confirmed in-person infrastructure than Abu Dhabi or Dubai. See our Attestation Services in Abu Dhabi and MOFA Attestation in Dubai pages for how the same digital and courier routes apply there, and our step-by-step MOFA attestation guide for the full walkthrough. For documents attested by a foreign embassy or consulate as part of the chain, see our embassy legalization page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — MOFA’s own Contact Us page gives a Sharjah address in the Al Dafeen Area, while a separate MOFA FAQ page names a branch in the Rahmaniyah Area with 8:00 am–2:00 pm hours. The two official pages do not agree, and MOFA’s FAQ is itself unclear on whether walk-in Customer Happiness Centres are open at all, so call 80044444 to confirm before visiting, or use the digital attestation route instead.

No current official MOFA address for Ajman was found on mofa.gov.ae. Ajman residents are best served by MOFA’s digital attestation service, the courier route, or MOFA Customer Service on 80044444.

80044444 (toll-free inside the UAE) or +971 800 44444 from outside the UAE, available for attestation queries including those from Sharjah and Ajman.

MOFA states digital attestation is completed within 2 hours during official working hours, courier delivery inside the UAE takes 1–3 business days, and courier outside the UAE takes up to 7 business days. These are MOFA’s own published figures on an undated page and can change.

Yes. The UK route (FCDO apostille, then the UAE Embassy in London, then UAE MOFA) is a national process, not an emirate-specific one, so it works the same for residents of Sharjah and Ajman as it does for Dubai or Abu Dhabi residents.

Not usually. Most document types are handled through MOFA’s digital attestation service (UAE Pass) or an approved courier, without an in-person visit. A small number of document types may require a physical step depending on the issuing authority.

It is MOFA’s own online portal for verifying that a document has been genuinely attested by the Ministry, using the reference number on the attested document.

Yes. MOFA processes police clearance (good conduct) certificates exclusively through its digital attestation pathway, the same as birth and death certificates, with no courier alternative for this document type. This applies UAE-wide, including Sharjah and Ajman.

The service itself (fees, eligible documents, digital process) is set nationally by MOFA and does not differ by emirate. What differs is physical branch access — Dubai and Abu Dhabi have more clearly documented MOFA presence than Ajman currently does.
